Puppy Training
Our puppy course is designed to help you and your puppy get the absolute best start to a healthy and happy lifestyle together. This puppy course is a 5 week program including a single one hour session per week. – Cost: $400+HST
Introduction: This is for puppy owners to get themselves registered, and go over all the tools and equipment they will need before getting started on their puppy adventures! We will start basic socialization, and some name and reward associations.
In home routine: Ensuring a good feeding, sleeping, exercise and bathroom schedule for each puppy at home is key for success. We will go into detail about crate training exercises, nutrition, and even talk about setting up the perfect “puppy apartment”.
Desensitization: We will show you how to give your puppy the right kind of exposure, to the right things, the right way! Including handling, grooming, vet visits, strangers, other dogs and animals, noises and much more.
Bite inhibition and teething: This can be a headache for unprepared puppy owners! We will not only explain the difference between these two subjects, but give you handling and training skills to properly manage both.
Opening the way to obedience training: In this last session, we will work on introducing you and your puppies to some basic training principles like walking manners, engagement and attention, redirection techniques, and understanding how dogs learn. You will learn how to manage and prevent unwanted behaviours, while introducing many good ones in this new chapter of adventure and fun with your dog!
The puppy course is offered as a private in-home program. Your puppy should be between the ages 8 – 16 weeks at the start of the program.
